Global dividends shrugged off concerns over global economic growth, rising 7.8% to a first-quarter record of US$263.3 billion. Underlying growth was 7.5% with the impact of large special dividend payments offset by exchange rate moves. The U.S. and Canada broke all-time records, while firstquarter records were achieved in eight other countries. The Janus Henderson Global Dividend Index rose to a record level of 190.1**
