Treasury yields decline modestly in a relatively calm week

U.S. Treasury yields finished slightly lower last week, led by 10-year maturities. Markets seem to be growing more accustomed to the swiftness of the massive economic slowdown, showing little reaction to catastrophic employment data. The Federal Reserve (Fed) balance sheet reached a record $5.8 trillion last week, and purchases will continue to increase as market liquidity returns.
